Designed in, not retrofit
Cast into the slab before the pour, so the seal is integral to the structure, not a wrap added afterwards.
Built for the site
Locator plate, reinforced cap and snap-off nail points for fast, clean installation and obvious de-nailing.
Fast-closing seal
Patented spring activation compresses the intumescent for a rapid close, in around three minutes.
UK supply & support
Stocked and supported in the UK by Selkent, with free on-site toolbox talks.

How a Sure Snap collar seals a penetration
Where a plastic pipe passes through a fire-rated floor, it becomes a weak point. In a fire the pipe melts and burns away, leaving an open hole for flame and smoke to spread between floors.
A Sure Snap collar closes that hole and restores the floor’s fire resistance. Because smoke, not flame, causes most high-rise fire deaths, sealing the opening fast is what counts. Sure Snap is built to stop both.
It does this through patented spring activation. As the fire softens the pipe, fusible links release loaded springs that drive the Intumesh™ intumescent inward, closing the penetration in around three minutes and holding it for up to four hours, depending on pipe and configuration. Here is how that happens, step by step.

01
Before the pour
Cast into the slab
Fixed to the formwork by its locator plate, which holds it in place and keeps out slurry.

02
In service
Pipe runs through the slab
The plastic pipe runs through the collar, which stays dormant through normal service, ready to act.

03
In fire
The seal snaps shut
Fusible links melt and release the springs, compressing the Intumesh™ intumescent around the collapsing pipe.
See why Sure Snap is the premium choice
We put a Sure Snap collar in a side-by-side fire test against a competitor’s fire collar. Sure Snap’s patented spring activation and the Intumesh™ intumescent deliver a fast-closing seal, stopping flame and smoke from escaping through the pipe.
