A proven cast-in collar, specified across the UK
Sure Snap cast-in fire collars are used on residential and mixed-use developments to maintain fire resistance where plastic pipes pass through floor slabs. They are LPCB approved (Certificate 1833a) and tested to BS EN 1366-3, with extended application to BS EN 15882-3.
Each project below used the same cast-in method. The collar is positioned on its locator plate, fixed to the formwork, and cast into the slab during the pour. The result is a firestop built into the structure rather than wrapped on afterwards.

Case study 01
Woodberry Down

LOCATION London
Sure Snap cast-in collars were used to firestop plastic-pipe penetrations through the floor slabs at Woodberry Down, one of London’s largest residential regeneration schemes. The collars were fixed into the formwork and cast in as each floor was poured, sealing the penetrations as an integral part of the structure.

At Royal Winchester House in Bracknell, a Comer Homes Group residential development, Sure Snap cast-in collars sealed the plastic-pipe penetrations through the floor slabs. They were set out and fixed to the deck before the pour, then cast into the slab so each penetration was protected as the structure went up.
